In recent years, many vegetarians have chosen Bali as their destination because of its amazing beaches, delicious food and relaxing yoga.
Bali also hosts the famous Bali Vegan Festival which takes place annually in October.
If you stay in the more crowded party area in the south, like Kuta and Seminyak, then you still have plenty of vegetarian options.
However, we definitely recommend heading north and heading to Ubud. Restaurants abound that serve smoothies, vegan gado gado (Indonesian salad with tofu, rice crackers and peanut sauce), tempeh skewers, vegan pancakes, coconut ice cream. Even non-vegan restaurants often have a vegetarian or vegan menu, or at least a few options.
We have made for you a selection of vegetarian and raw food cafes on the island of Bali, where even inveterate carnivores will be surprised by the abundance of dishes and will definitely want to try them.
